Do you ship International?
At this time, we are very new to shipping across the world! We have had great success choosing private couriers (UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc) to ship outside of Canada and the US. If you choose to use Canada Post please select the fastest possible shipping option as well as a TRACKED option so you can track your items and know that there is still a risk in receiving your order in the appropriate timeline that we feel guarantees your product freshness.
Why is everything so expensive?
We too, are trying to stay afloat! Our main ingredients are very expensive because we make sure to purchase fair trade, sustainable/ethical couverture chocolate for ALL our products. No confectioner's chocolate or candy melts, EVER! Sustainability does equal a higher cost but also superior flavour and texture with the peace of mind of knowing where the beans come from.
On top of this we are also committed to paying our employees a living wage because we believe they deserve proper compensation for their hard work! Making edible art every day is a meticulous and unforgiving endeavor. We do try and do sales and promo bundles like our mystery bags as often as we can!
What ingredients are in the ganache and caramel?
Our ganache recipe contains the following: heavy cream, glucose, belgian chocolate, butter, flavour extract (varies) plus additional ingredients depending on the type of ganache. For example an espresso ganache will additionally contain: espresso!
Our caramel contains the following: granulated sugar, butter, heavy cream, vanilla, sea salt, Belgian white chocolate (and occasionally other ingredients to add flavour)
How can I track my orders?
You should have access through your ORDER STATUS page generated from your Shopify purchase - if you cannot locate this you can also download the SHOP app. If you have an outside Canada order and did not choose a TRACKED packet option yourself, the courier and DSRT CO will be unable to track your package. We are sympathetic to the frustration this causes and hope as we grow we can offer third party courier options!
I think my order is missing. What should I do?
For missing parcels please send us an e-mail so we can open a missing parcel inquiry with Canada Post to try and locate your package and remedy the issue. If you are shipping within Canada your package is eligible to a claim by Canada Post - we can start that process for you via e-mail.
How can I pay for my orders?
You can do a online payment using your debit / credit cards or via third party apps like Apple or Google pay and Paypal. We also have in-store shopping at our Hamilton location.
How long have you been working with chocolate?
I’ve been working with chocolate for a few years now - but certainly not as long as I have been baking which is over a decade! The pastry background has helped bring to life so many desserts in chocolate bar form.

Why are you always sold out?
If you’ve been following us for a while you’ll know this all started in Summers 80 square foot kitchen. The production space is very new and it takes time to scale up to meet both shipping and retail demands! We promise we are working hard every day to make chocolate available in bigger batches.
How long will my DSRT bar last? Can I freeze it?
It will last 4 weeks from its production date and you can absolutely freeze it to extend the life by many months! Just wrap it tightly and freeze in an airtight bag or container. Thaw to serve and eat as usual!
Can you deliver to my hot state/province?
For the summer our cool-pack shipping to work it needs to arrive at the destination in 2-3 travel days. Anything outside of that time frame is ship at your own risk!
Is it still just one person?
We currently have a small team of 7 super-star chocolate geniuses!

Do you have any vegan items or allergy friendly chocolate?
We have items without certain allergens however our facility handles these allergen containing items: peanuts and tree nuts, soy (soy lecithin is in some of the chocolate brands) dairy, wheat and eggs. Because the space is so small we cannot guarantee there isn’t cross contamination.
Do you still make garbage cakes and donuts?
We are working on bringing baking back! Stay tuned!
